Mt. Harrison Autumn

Mt Harrison Autumn  Oil on Canvas Panel     16" x 20"
My grandmother lived about 9 miles from our home. The trip included crossing the Snake River which I always loved as a child. I loved seeing the river calm, like in this painting, wild, choppy.... whatever, The colors were always interesting in all seasons. We visited often, so I saw the river often. It still holds charms for me. I enjoy drawing and painting it in many seasons with or without a view of Mt. Harrison included.

Desert Blossoming

Desert Blossoming
Oil on Cradled Canvas Panel, 8"x8"
It is difficult at times to remember that we really are in a desert here... Our community Fathers did extraordinary work in making the valley beautifully productive by creating an irrigation system using our Snake River. The farming community and even we city dwellers benefit greatly from their hard work!
This rose was waiting for me in the garden this morning! I spent a wonderful tranquil afternoon in my studio exploring the rose and the day in paint!

" Snake River Suite: Mt. Harrison from Pelican Point, Heyburn"
14"x42", Oil on Canvas Panel, Gallery Wrap
sold
Drawing and making photos from this place is a delight. I tried several times to be there for one of our wonderful sunsets or dawns. The weather this spring has been most uncooperative.
I will keep trying.
The Canada Geese were a joy to watch. One of the real joys of drawing and painting is that it takes time and during that time, often one sees creatures!
