This painting began with a PleinAire experience on a small canvas (8x10), either last summer or the year before. It is an interpretation of one of my very favorite places in our area on Mt Harrison where the road makes a major bend on the way to Pomerelle, our ski area.
The day I and my Aunt Glenna were there was a pleasant summer day with very little traffic and a gentle breeze. She read and I painted.
Now as autumn is all but here, I am thinking I will go back and do a Fall painting with the Aspen leaves beautifully golden.
I feel so fortunate to be able to respond in paint to the miracles of seasons, to the beauty surrounding us!
